The SCARA robot is a type of industrial robot with a rather simple structure, characterized by 4 joints with vertical axis. The arm of the SCARA robot &#8211; consisting of two rigid elements called links &#8211; moves on a horizontal plane, while vertical movement is ensured by a third element connected by prismatic coupling. A further rotoidal coupling is sometimes present to allow rotation of the gripper around its axis.<\/p>\n<p>Characteristics of SCARA robots such as Omron X series are high reliability, precision and speed, minimal maintenance, ease of use and extremely compact design.
