OMRON NB7W – THE OMRON NB HMI

Omron NB series HMIs are extremely versatile human / machine interfaces suitable for the vast majority of applications. NB-Designer software for creating graphic pages is free and can be downloaded from the Omron website. In particular, the Omron NB10W HMI has the following characteristics:

  • TFT Touch Screen with 7“ LCD display and 65,536 colors
  • Long life LED backlight
  • Serial, USB or Ethernet communication
  • Support of USB sticks
  • 128 MB internal memory
  • Bitmap and vector graphics

 

State-of-the-art display

The robust Omron NB7W TFT LCD touch screen allows an excellent visibility and is equipped with long-lasting LED backlighting (50,000 h = approximately 6 years), characterized by a good viewing angle and optimal brightness. The dimensions of the Omron NB7W panels correspond to 7 inches. The large memory (128 MB) allows your HMI application to hold numerous images and animations and in addition the Omron NB7W HMI supports all common graphic file types: jpg, gif, png, etc.

 

 

Omron NB7W: an intelligent design

Flexibility and versatility of an HMI panel are decisive elements for the design and, more important, for using the machine. For this reason the Omron NB7W panel, as well as all the Omron NB series HMIs, is equipped with numerous features that make its use convenient and advantageous:

Several security options

An important feature is the support for remote access via browser. This feature, already available on NS-series terminals, gives the ability to view the HMI screen from another device on the Ethernet network or remotely using a VPN connection.

The Web interface can be easily activated and configured in the software. Standard http user authentication is available to guarantee an authenticated connection. From the simple interface menu it is possible to choose to monitor only or operate completely with the HMI. The settings page allows you to optimize the performance and the quality of the link.

With this web interface, the machine builder has the ability to check and solve any problems from a remote location, using a standard browser on any device such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Other features of the NB-Designer software are:

numerous drivers for non-Omron PLCs
support for German and French
graphic management of projects (options relating to grid functions, resizing, etc.) for quick page design.
